Profhilo for the neck is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment used to support hydration and skin quality. It may suit people concerned about dry or crepey skin, fine neck lines or mild skin laxity.

Results are usually subtle and develop gradually. Profhilo does not remove fat, relax prominent neck bands or remove significant excess skin.

A practitioner should first assess whether your concern is mainly related to skin quality, muscle activity, fat beneath the chin or loose skin. This page explains what Profhilo may improve, what recovery involves, which factors affect cost and how to compare UK clinics.

Profhilo Neck Treatment

Profhilo neck treatment at a glance

Treatment aim

To improve hydration, crepey texture, fine lines and mild skin laxity.

Type of result

Usually gradual and subtle, without adding obvious volume.

Treatment plan

An initial course may involve more than one appointment. The number and timing of sessions depend on the skin, product and treatment protocol.

Recovery

Normal activities can often be resumed quickly. Small raised areas, redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may remain visible temporarily.

Cost

The price depends on the product used, quantity, number of sessions and whether the neck is treated alone or with the décolletage.

Which neck concerns may Profhilo help?

Dry or crepey neck skin

Profhilo may be considered when dehydration and skin texture are the main concerns. The skin may appear smoother or more hydrated after treatment, although results vary.

Fine horizontal neck lines

Fine lines may become less noticeable when dryness and reduced elasticity contribute to their appearance. Deep or established lines are unlikely to disappear completely.

Mild skin laxity

Profhilo may produce a subtle improvement in skin firmness. It cannot remove significant excess skin or provide the same result as a surgical neck lift.

When Profhilo may be unsuitable

Profhilo is not usually the main treatment for prominent platysmal bands, a significant amount of fat beneath the chin or substantial loose skin. These concerns require a different assessment and may respond better to another approach.

Does Profhilo work for the neck?

Profhilo may improve hydration, skin texture, fine lines and mild laxity in suitable patients. The result is generally gradual rather than immediate.

It is most relevant when the concern lies mainly within the skin itself, such as dehydration, a fine crepey texture or an early reduction in elasticity.

It works differently when the appearance of the neck is mainly caused by:

  • prominent muscle bands;

  • fat beneath the chin;

  • deep lines related to anatomy or repeated movement;

  • significant excess skin.

A practitioner should assess the structures contributing to your concern before recommending treatment. Profhilo alone may provide limited improvement when skin quality is not the main cause.

Read more about why Profhilo may not work as expected.

How does Profhilo affect the skin?

Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid, which attracts water and supports skin hydration and flexibility.

Unlike a traditional dermal filler, it is not mainly used to add targeted volume or reshape facial features. Its main purpose is to support skin quality.

For the neck, it may be considered for:

  • dry or dehydrated skin;

  • crepey texture;

  • fine horizontal lines;

  • reduced elasticity;

  • mild skin laxity.

Changes in hydration may be noticed before changes in texture or firmness. The final result should therefore not be judged immediately after treatment.

Profhilo or Profhilo Body for the neck?

Clinics may use different Profhilo products and treatment protocols for the neck. The choice may depend on the size of the area, skin condition, quantity required and the practitioner’s assessment.

Profhilo Body is generally used for larger treatment areas and is supplied in a different format and quantity. This does not mean it is automatically the most suitable option for every neck treatment.

During the consultation, ask:

  • which Profhilo product will be used;

  • how many millilitres are included;

  • whether the neck, décolletage or both will be treated;

  • how many sessions are proposed;

  • whether the quoted cost covers one session or a complete course.

The practitioner should explain why the selected product and quantity suit your skin and treatment goals.

How does a Profhilo neck treatment work?

  1. 1 Assessment of the skin and neck anatomy
  2. 2 Medical history and treatment discussion
  3. 3 Cleaning and preparation of the treatment area
  4. 4 Profhilo injected at selected points
  5. 5 Immediate skin check and aftercare advice
  6. 6 Follow-up session or result review if advised

When might you see results?

Immediately after treatment

Small raised areas, redness or mild swelling may be visible. These are injection-related effects rather than the final result.

During the first few days

The injection sites usually settle gradually. Tenderness or bruising may remain for longer.

During the following weeks

Hydration and texture may begin to improve gradually. Any change in fine lines or elasticity is unlikely to be immediate.

After the initial course

The result can be assessed more fairly once the recommended sessions have been completed and the skin has had time to settle.

Maintenance

Profhilo results are temporary. Whether maintenance is appropriate depends on the skin, initial response and practitioner’s advice.

What results can you realistically expect?

Profhilo for the neck is intended to support skin quality rather than change the underlying anatomy.

Possible improvements include:

  • better hydrated skin;

  • smoother-looking texture;

  • less noticeable crepey skin;

  • softer fine lines;

  • a subtle improvement in elasticity or firmness.

Profhilo does not:

  • remove fat beneath the chin;

  • relax prominent neck bands;

  • replace lost structural volume;

  • remove excess skin;

  • guarantee that deep lines will disappear;

  • provide the same result as surgery.

Before-and-after photographs should be compared carefully. Look for changes in hydration, texture and fine lines, while also checking whether the lighting, posture and position of the chin are consistent.

Recovery, side effects and aftercare

Small bumps, redness, swelling, itching, tenderness or bruising can occur after treatment. These effects should gradually improve.

Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection sites unless instructed by the treating practitioner. Follow the clinic’s advice about make-up, exercise, alcohol, heat, saunas, sun exposure, skincare and other cosmetic treatments.

Contact the clinic promptly if you develop increasing pain, spreading redness, unusual warmth, discharge, fever, marked skin discolouration, blistering or a rapidly worsening reaction.

Treatment may need to be postponed when there is an active infection, inflamed or damaged skin, pregnancy, breastfeeding, a relevant allergy or certain medical conditions. Discuss medicines, previous injectable treatments and previous reactions during the consultation.

What does Profhilo for the neck cost?

The cost of a Profhilo neck treatment varies between UK clinics and treatment plans. Factors include:

  • the product selected;

  • the quantity used;

  • the number of sessions;

  • whether the neck is treated alone;

  • whether the décolletage is included;

  • consultation and review arrangements;

  • the cost of future maintenance.

When comparing clinic prices, check whether the amount shown is for one session or a complete course. Also confirm how many millilitres are included and whether follow-up care is part of the price.

A lower advertised cost may cover less product or fewer appointments. Compare the complete treatment plan rather than the headline price alone.

Profhilo or another neck treatment?

Profhilo for skin quality

Profhilo focuses on hydration, crepey texture, fine lines and mild skin laxity. It generally adds little visible volume.

Botulinum toxin for muscle bands

For selected patients, botulinum toxin may be considered for prominent platysmal bands. It targets muscle activity rather than dehydration or crepey skin.

Energy-based skin treatments

Radiofrequency or ultrasound treatments may be discussed when skin tightening is a more important aim. Their mechanism, recovery and expected results differ from Profhilo.

Surgical neck lift

Surgery may produce a more substantial structural change when there is significant excess skin. It also involves an operation, recovery, scarring and surgical risks.

The most suitable option depends on whether the main concern is skin quality, muscle activity, fat, volume loss or excess skin.

How to compare Profhilo clinics

Correct assessment is particularly important for neck treatments. The practitioner should identify whether your concern is mainly caused by skin quality, muscle activity, fat, volume loss or excess skin.

When comparing clinics, consider:

Qualifications and training
Ask who will assess and treat you, what relevant qualifications they hold and whether they are insured for the procedure.

Experience treating the neck
Ask how frequently the practitioner treats this area and which concerns they consider suitable for Profhilo.

A clear treatment plan
The clinic should explain which product will be used, how much is included and how many appointments may be required.

Realistic expectations
The practitioner should explain what Profhilo is unlikely to improve as well as its possible benefits.

Transparent costs
Confirm what is included in the quoted price, including consultation, review and follow-up sessions.

Aftercare and availability
Ask how the clinic handles unexpected symptoms and who can be contacted after treatment.
