However, after a very thorough consultation, Dr. Mo explained that the most effective way to treat my concerns would actually be subtle filler in my smile lines and the upper cheeks, rather than under the eyes, where filler can often migrate. I

t was really important to me that the result looked subtle yet noticeable, natural, refreshed, and not overdone. That’s exactly what I got, and I was instantly blown away by the results.

In a world where filler and Botox are so often performed in salons by people without the proper medical training or anywhere near enough experience, it was incredibly refreshing to find Dr. Mo, an actual doctor who truly understands facial anatomy and specialises in subtle, tasteful adjustments. Equally important, I never once felt pressured into unnecessary treatments or upselling, which is sadly quite rare.

I cannot recommend Dr Ria enough. After having a terrible experience with previous tear trough filler that went horribly wrong, I completely lost my confidence. I had to have the filler dissolved several times and even saw two surgeons who told me I would need surgery to correct the damage. While a lower blepharoplasty may still be something I consider in the future, the cost was over £13,000 and all I really wanted was for my under-eye area to look a little better and more natural again.

Finding Dr Ria honestly changed everything for me. I used to cry over my under-eyes and felt so self-conscious every single day. From my first consultation, he explained everything so thoroughly and made me feel completely reassured. His knowledge, skill, and experience are truly exceptional.

The results are amazing. My under-eye area looks so much better, and he managed to improve and correct something I thought could only be fixed with surgery. I am genuinely so happy with the outcome.

Dr Ria is not only incredibly professional and kind, but he is also a true artist when it comes to the face. You can tell he really cares about his patients and takes pride in his work.

Each member of the reception team that I had dealt remained kind and helpful at all times, accommodating reschedules and handling queries with care. I had a lip flip the first time and then went back for two more sessions for lip filler she was great at achieving natural results. I have had masseter botox done with her a couple of times, and since I had a great experience, I felt confident to do my first filler treatment with her.
I had noticed that in the last few years my under-eye area was looking more tired, and wanted to do something about it.
Having been to other injectors in the past for masseter botox (didn’t have very good experiences), I had been told I could do tear trough filler to improve it.
Dr Mirali assessed my face, feeling the bone and muscles around my eye and explained that because of the oedema I have around my eyes, that would not be recommended as it could make it look more prominent and give the impression that my eyes bags are worse.
Instead she suggested we did filler in the mid face to improve the volume loss that has happened over time, which is what made my skin around the eye fall and look tired.
The procedure was explained perfectly with all the risks and possible complications before she started. I felt super safe in her hands the whole time and even when I felt a bit faint she was so kind and empathetic, I felt so comfortable. She checked that I had good blood flow to area right after the treatment and checked on me afterwards to make sure I was doing well. I only had very minor discomfort and swelling but not even noticeable.
The results have been amazing! People that know me don’t even notice what treatment I had done, they just say I look like a had a very good night sleep!
I’m so glad I found such a good professional, she clearly loves what she does and is very knowledgeable.
It’s scary when you have so many people offering procedures that would not have worked for my type of eye.
I look forward to using all of the skincare she has recommended and see the final results in a few months to a year!
Finding a good doctor makes you realise how important it is to be able to trust your injector and feel safe.

The personal experience of Ineke van Ruiten (39) with tear trough fillers

I’ve always had under-eye bags. Always a sort of blue circle under my eyes. Even in childhood photos, it was there. Sometimes worse, sometimes less noticeable. In winter when I was pale, or during hay fever season, the bags stood out even more. I didn’t mind them, but my mother often said I looked tired.

During puberty, I became more aware of it. I started wearing makeup and wanted to look good. Those under-eye bags bothered me. Luckily, I could camouflage them well. Still, it was a daily concern. My day couldn’t start until the dark circles were covered. I wouldn’t go outside without concealer.

I never really looked for a permanent solution. I assumed there wasn’t one. Of course, I had heard of fillers, but I didn’t really know what they could do.

Helped by friend Robin

In the following years, I lived my life. I got married and had two children. I worked for over 10 years as an administrative assistant at a large insurance company. At 34, I decided to change jobs. I started working in administration at a home accessories wholesaler. There, I met Robin, my new colleague. Robin is a fun and spontaneous woman, and we became friends. Eventually, I told her how much the dark circles under my eyes bothered me. Robin shared her experience with tear trough fillers. She was shocked I hadn’t heard of them. Haha, yes, I didn’t know — apparently it wasn’t common in my environment.

Robin took me to a consultation at a private clinic in Hilversum. There was a very kind female doctor who understood exactly what bothered me. I decided to have tear trough fillers.

Experience of the tear trough treatment

During the treatment, she gave me one injection. Then she used a cannula under my eye to distribute the filler. It didn’t hurt at all. I find the result amazing. The doctor explained that the dark circle is caused by the thinness of my skin, which makes the blood underneath visible as a blue/dark hue. The tear trough filler slightly thickened the skin. It may be a micro millimetre, but for me, it achieved a perfect result. It’s been three months, and I’m happy every single day.

My advice: Only get treated if you connect with the doctor

I am very grateful to Robin for taking me to this wonderful doctor. I had a great connection with her — she’s a true professional. You sometimes read bizarre stories about fillers in the media, but I think the key is to have a connection with your doctor. If you don’t, just talk to another doctor. That would be my advice!
