Profhilo Face Treatment

Profhilo face treatment is intended to support facial skin quality. It contains hyaluronic acid and may be considered for dry skin, fine lines and reduced elasticity.

Unlike a conventional dermal filler, standard Profhilo is not designed to add precise volume or reshape the lips, cheekbones or jawline. It also does not reduce muscle activity in the way that botulinum toxin treatment does.

Which parts of the face are assessed?

BAP injection points

The commonly used BAP technique involves five injection points on each side of the face. BAP stands for Bio Aesthetic Points.

These points are distributed across areas such as the cheeks, mid-face and lower face. Exact placement may vary if the practitioner recommends another technique.

Cheeks and mid-face

Treatment in these areas is intended to support hydration, texture and elasticity. It does not enlarge the cheekbones in the way that a dermal filler can.

Lower face and jawline

Profhilo may be considered for fine lines or early skin laxity. It does not create a sharply defined filler-style jawline.

Around the eyes

The skin around the eyes requires a separate assessment. This area is not automatically included in the standard BAP technique.

Forehead

Forehead lines are often influenced by muscle movement. A practitioner may therefore discuss botulinum toxin or another treatment if muscle activity is the main concern.

What can Profhilo treat?

Profhilo is primarily intended for concerns involving general skin quality. It may support hydration, texture and elasticity.

It is not normally the first choice for:

• Significant or localised volume loss

• Deep facial folds

• Strong lines caused by muscle movement

• Reshaping the lips, cheeks or jawline

• Considerable loose or excess skin

Dermal fillers may be more suitable for targeted volume or contouring. Botulinum toxin may be considered for movement-related lines.

Where deeper facial tissue changes are present, a practitioner may discuss Profhilo Structura or a different treatment. Standard Profhilo is not a facelift and does not remove excess skin.

How many treatments are needed?

An initial course of two appointments is commonly discussed, often with approximately four weeks between them. The recommended number will depend on your skin, previous treatments and treatment goals.

Small raised areas, redness or mild swelling may be visible immediately afterwards.

Changes in hydration, texture or elasticity may develop during the following weeks. Results are usually easier to assess after the initial course has been completed.

The effect is temporary. How long it remains visible varies according to factors such as skin condition, lifestyle, treatment plan and maintenance appointments.

Recovery, side effects and aftercare
