Rejuran for dark circles may be considered when the darkness is partly linked to thin, delicate or tired-looking skin under the eyes. It is not suitable for every type of dark circle.

Dark circles can also be caused by pigmentation, visible blood vessels, shadows, volume loss, tear trough hollowness, puffiness or eye bags. That is why the cause should be assessed before choosing a treatment.

Rejuran is not a filler. It does not fill a deep tear trough or add volume. It is mainly used to support skin quality, firmness and recovery in the under-eye area.

On this page, you can compare when Rejuran may help, when another treatment may be more suitable, what recovery can involve and how to compare clinics in the UK.

Rejuran Dark Circles

Does Rejuran help with dark circles?

Rejuran may help with dark circles when thin, fragile or crepey under-eye skin is part of the problem. In this situation, the aim is to improve skin quality rather than add volume.

Rejuran is usually less suitable when dark circles are mainly caused by pigmentation, deep hollowness, shadow, puffiness, eye bags or fluid retention.

The key question is not only “Does Rejuran work for dark circles?” but “What is causing the dark circles?”. A practitioner can assess whether Rejuran, tear trough filler, skinboosters, PRP, laser, skincare or another option is more appropriate.

What causes dark circles under the eyes?

Dark circles can have several causes. The right treatment depends on whether the issue is mainly skin quality, colour, shadow, volume or puffiness.

Thin under-eye skin

Thin or delicate skin can make blood vessels, blue tones or tired-looking skin more visible. Fine lines and crepey texture can also make the area look darker.

Pigmentation

Some dark circles are linked to pigment, sun exposure, genetics or skin tone. Rejuran does not usually treat pigmentation directly.

Volume loss and shadow

A deep tear trough or loss of volume can create shadow under the eyes. In this case, the skin may look darker even when the colour itself has not changed.

Puffiness and eye bags

Puffiness, fluid retention, eye bags, lack of sleep, alcohol, salt intake and ageing can all affect the under-eye area. Injectables are not always suitable for puffiness or eye bags.

Which treatment may fit each cause?

Cause of dark circles

Possible treatment

Why

Thin under-eye skin

Rejuran

Supports skin quality and firmness

Fine lines or crepey texture

Rejuran or skinbooster

Rejuran supports skin quality; skinboosters focus more on hydration

Tear trough hollowing or shadow

Tear trough filler, if suitable

Filler may support volume, but careful assessment is needed

Pigmentation

Pigment treatment, laser or skincare

Rejuran does not usually treat pigment directly

Visible vessels

Practitioner assessment

The right approach depends on skin, vessels and cause

Puffiness or eye bags

Different assessment needed

Injectables are not always suitable for fluid or fat pads

A consultation should identify the cause before treatment is chosen.

When may Rejuran be suitable for dark circles?

Rejuran may be considered when dark circles are linked to:

  • thin under-eye skin;

  • fine lines;

  • crepey texture;

  • tired-looking skin quality;

  • early loss of firmness;

  • delicate skin around the eyes.

It may be less suitable when the main cause is:

  • a deep tear trough;

  • strong shadowing;

  • significant volume loss;

  • pigmentation;

  • puffiness or fluid retention;

  • eye bags;

  • active irritation or inflammation around the eyes.

Rejuran can be part of a skin-quality treatment plan, but it should not be presented as a universal treatment for all dark circles.

Rejuran, filler or skinbooster for dark circles?

Rejuran, tear trough filler and skinboosters are often compared, but they work in different ways. The best choice depends on the cause of the dark circles.

Treatment

Often used for

Main difference

Rejuran

Thin, fragile or tired-looking under-eye skin

Supports skin quality; does not add volume

Tear trough filler

Hollowing, volume loss or shadow

Adds volume, but requires careful assessment

Skinbooster

Dryness and fine dehydration lines

Focuses mainly on hydration

PRP

Skin quality and natural repair support

Uses the patient’s own blood components

Laser or pigment treatment

Pigment or colour change

Targets colour or pigment more directly

Rejuran may be more logical when the skin itself is thin or fragile. Filler may be more logical when the main issue is hollowing or shadow, if a practitioner considers it safe and suitable.

How does Rejuran treatment for dark circles work?

  1. 1 Consultation and under-eye assessment
  2. 2 Review of skin thickness, pigment, shadow and puffiness
  3. 3 Cleaning and preparation of the skin
  4. 4 Optional numbing cream, depending on the clinic
  5. 5 Small injections around the treatment area
  6. 6 Cooling or aftercare advice if needed
  7. 7 Personal treatment plan and follow-up advice

Results, number of treatments and maintenance

Results from Rejuran under the eyes usually develop gradually. The skin may start to look calmer or fresher after several weeks, but the result is often judged after a course of treatment rather than after one session.

Rejuran does not work like filler. There is usually no immediate volume effect.

The number of sessions depends on skin quality, the cause of the dark circles, the product used, the treatment area and the practitioner’s advice. Maintenance may be needed because results are not permanent.

Recovery and possible side effects

After Rejuran under the eyes, temporary reactions can occur. Because the skin around the eyes is thin, swelling, small bumps or bruising may be more noticeable than in other areas.

Common temporary reactions can include redness, swelling, small bumps, bruising and tenderness.

Reaction

Often expected

Contact the clinic if

Redness

A few hours to a few days

It worsens, feels hot or becomes painful

Swelling

Usually temporary

It increases strongly or becomes uneven

Small bumps

Can happen after injections

They do not settle or become painful

Bruising

Possible around the eyes

There is severe pain, colour change or vision symptoms

Tenderness

Can be temporary

Pain clearly increases

Contact the treating clinic if you are unsure. Seek urgent medical help if you develop severe pain, sudden skin colour change or any symptoms affecting vision.

Aftercare after Rejuran under the eyes

Follow the aftercare instructions from your clinic. Advice can vary depending on your treatment plan.

Common advice may include:

  • avoid touching, rubbing or massaging the treated area unless told otherwise;

  • avoid make-up on or near injection points for the period advised by the clinic;

  • avoid sauna, heat, intense exercise, alcohol and strong sun exposure for the advised period;

  • use SPF and protect the skin from UV exposure;

  • do not press firmly on swelling or small bumps.

Ask the clinic when you can restart active skincare, make-up and exercise.

What does Rejuran for dark circles cost?

The cost of Rejuran for dark circles varies between clinics and treatment plans. Do not compare clinics on price alone.

Cost can depend on:

  • the clinic;

  • the practitioner’s experience;

  • the product used;

  • the treatment area;

  • the number of sessions;

  • whether a course is advised;

  • consultation, review and aftercare.

Ask what is included before booking. A lower price is not always better if the assessment, product information or aftercare is unclear.

How to choose a clinic for Rejuran and dark circles

Choose a clinic that looks carefully at the cause of your dark circles before recommending treatment. The under-eye area is delicate, so experience and assessment matter.

Compare clinics on:

  • experience with Rejuran or polynucleotide treatments;

  • experience treating the under-eye area;

  • clear explanation of the cause of your dark circles;

  • realistic expectations about results and recovery;

  • product information;

  • transparent cost information;

  • reviews and patient feedback;

  • aftercare and review options;

  • willingness to explain when filler, skinbooster, PRP, laser or another treatment may be more suitable.

A good consultation should not push one treatment for every type of dark circle.
