Profhilo for the décolletage is an injectable treatment intended to improve hydration and general skin quality across the upper chest. It may be considered for fine lines, dry or crepey-looking skin and early loss of elasticity.

Profhilo does not add targeted volume. It is unlikely to correct deep chest creases, significant loose skin, visible veins or pigmentation.

The skin in this area is relatively thin and frequently exposed to sunlight. A consultation is therefore important to establish whether the main concern is dehydration, sleep lines, sun damage, pigmentation or skin laxity.

Profhilo for the Decolletage

Is Profhilo suitable for your décolletage?

Profhilo may be considered for:

  • Dry or dehydrated skin

  • Fine superficial lines

  • Mildly crepey skin

  • Early loss of elasticity

  • Shallow lines caused by pressure during sleep

It is usually less suitable for:

  • Deep, established chest creases

  • Prominent pigmentation or sunspots

  • Visible blood vessels

  • Scarring

  • Significant loose skin

  • Substantial volume loss

  • A changing or unexplained skin lesion

Dryness, pigmentation and deep static creases have different causes. The area should therefore be assessed before treatment.

Why do lines develop on the décolletage?

The skin of the décolletage is relatively thin and receives frequent sun exposure. Over time, ultraviolet radiation can contribute to pigmentation, uneven texture and reduced elasticity. This is sometimes called photoageing.

Natural ageing also affects the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Changes in collagen and elastin may make the area appear thinner and less resilient.

Other contributing factors may include:

  • Repeated pressure from side sleeping

  • Vertical compression between the breasts

  • Smoking

  • Sunbed use

  • Weight changes

  • Dry skin

  • Hormonal changes

  • Inherited skin characteristics

A shallow sleep line does not necessarily require the same treatment as pigmentation or a deep central chest crease.

How does Profhilo work on the décolletage?

Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid and is intended to support hydration and general skin quality. The aim is for the skin to appear smoother and more supple rather than to fill one specific crease.

The product is injected at several points and spreads through the treated tissue. Profhilo is often described as a bio-remodelling treatment because it is used to support processes associated with hydration, firmness and elasticity. Individual responses vary.

Profhilo or Profhilo Body?

The practitioner may consider:

  • The size of the treatment area

  • Skin thickness and quality

  • The degree of laxity

  • The amount of product required

  • The intended outcome

  • Their treatment protocol

Profhilo Body may be discussed for larger treatment areas, but it is not automatically the best option for every décolletage.

How does a Profhilo décolletage treatment work?

  1. 1 Consultation and discussion of your concerns
  2. 2 Assessment of lines, texture, pigmentation and skin laxity
  3. 3 Selection of the product and treatment plan
  4. 4 Cleansing and disinfecting the treatment area
  5. 5 Injection at points selected by the practitioner
  6. 6 Aftercare advice and follow-up planning

Treatment course, results and recovery

An initial Profhilo course commonly involves more than one appointment, with several weeks between sessions. The recommended schedule depends on the skin, treatment area, product and practitioner’s protocol.

Small raised bumps, redness, mild swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur immediately after treatment. These reactions are usually temporary, and the final outcome cannot be assessed straight away.

Over the following weeks, the skin may gradually appear more hydrated, smoother and more supple. Changes are usually subtle and are not comparable with the targeted volume of a dermal filler or the effect of surgery.

Results are temporary. Their duration may be influenced by skin quality, sun exposure, lifestyle, the treatment plan and any maintenance sessions.

Profhilo décolletage before and after

Before-and-after photographs may help demonstrate changes in fine lines, hydration and skin texture. Images should be taken with similar lighting, posture, distance and camera settings.

Results from treatment of the face or neck do not predict what will happen on the décolletage. Look for photographs that clearly show the upper chest area.

Outcomes vary according to the starting condition of the skin, the product used, the amount injected and the number of sessions.

How much does Profhilo for the décolletage cost?

The cost depends on the product, the amount used and the number of sessions recommended. A price for one appointment should not be compared directly with the total cost of a full course.

Check:

  • How much product is included

  • Whether the price covers one session or a course

  • Whether only the décolletage is treated

  • Whether the neck is included

  • Whether consultation and follow-up are included

  • Which Profhilo product is used

  • Whether maintenance is likely to be recommended

Use the rates block below for current clinic-controlled price information.

Compare more than the advertised price

A lower price is not necessarily better value when it includes less product, no follow-up or only one session.

When comparing clinics, consider:

  • The total cost of the proposed course

  • The product and amount included

  • Experience treating the décolletage

  • Access to advice after the procedure

  • Verified reviews

  • How unexpected reactions are assessed

  • Whether the practitioner explains alternative treatments

Confirm directly with the clinic that it offers Profhilo treatment for the décolletage.

Which treatment may suit each décolletage concern?

Dry or crepey-looking skin

Profhilo or another injectable skin treatment may be discussed when hydration and general texture are the main concerns. These treatments do not provide a strong lift or directly fill a deep crease.

Fine superficial lines

Profhilo may help the skin appear smoother and more supple. Long-standing or deeper lines may remain visible.

Deep central chest creases

A practitioner may discuss dermal filler, collagen-stimulating treatment or a combination approach. Not every chest crease is suitable for injection.

Pigmentation and sunspots

Profhilo does not remove pigmentation. Depending on the diagnosis and skin type, treatments such as IPL, laser or a chemical peel may be considered.

Early skin laxity

Options may include Profhilo, collagen-stimulating treatments, radiofrequency or ultrasound. Non-surgical treatments do not produce the same result as surgery.

Significant loose skin

Injectable treatment is unlikely to provide substantial correction. A consultation can help establish realistic options.

Limitations and possible side effects

Important limitations include:

  • Results are usually subtle

  • Deep chest creases may remain visible

  • More than one session may be recommended

  • Results are temporary

  • Maintenance increases the overall cost

  • Injection-related reactions can occur

Temporary reactions may include small raised bumps, redness, swelling, tenderness, itching or bruising. Less common but more serious complications are also possible.

Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain, swelling, redness or skin discolouration becomes more severe, lasts longer than expected or develops differently from the explanation provided.

Treatment is normally postponed when there is an active infection or inflammation in the area. Discuss pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, health conditions, medicines and supplements during the consultation. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice from the clinician who prescribed them.

Aftercare following Profhilo for the décolletage

Follow the personalised instructions provided by the treating clinic.

Exercise, saunas and heat

Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and strong heat during the initial recovery period. Follow the timeframe advised by your practitioner.

Sun and sunbeds

Avoid intense sunlight and sunbeds while the skin remains red or sensitive. Protect the décolletage with a suitable high-factor sunscreen.

Pressure, rubbing and clothing

Do not rub or massage the treated area unless instructed. Loose clothing may reduce friction over the injection sites.

Skincare and other procedures

Use gentle skincare while the skin is sensitive. Arrange scrubs, peels, laser, IPL, microneedling or massage only after discussing timing with the clinic.

When to contact the clinic

Seek advice for worsening pain, marked discolouration, increasing redness or swelling, signs of infection, or any reaction that concerns you.

Read the complete Profhilo aftercare guidance.

Combining treatment of the neck and décolletage

The neck and décolletage are adjoining but separate treatment areas.

Horizontal lines and skin laxity are often more noticeable on the neck. The décolletage may show vertical sleep lines, sun damage, pigmentation or a crepey texture.

Both areas may sometimes be included in one treatment plan. The practitioner should assess:

  • The main concern in each area

  • Which product is appropriate

  • How much product is required

  • The injection technique

  • The number of sessions

  • The overall cost

Treating both areas may cost more because a larger surface area and additional product may be involved.

How to choose a clinic for Profhilo décolletage treatment

Compare more than price. Consider:

  • The practitioner’s professional qualifications and training

  • Their experience with injectable skin treatments

  • Their experience treating the upper chest

  • The product and amount included

  • Whether the neck is included

  • The total proposed course cost

  • Realistic décolletage before-and-after photographs

  • Verified patient reviews

  • Access to the clinic after treatment

  • The clinic’s process for assessing side effects or complications

A responsible practitioner should explain both the potential benefits and the reasons Profhilo may not suit your concern.
