Finally fuller lips: my experience with a lip filler treatment

Hi! I’m Fleur, 27, and I want to share my experience with my lip filler treatment. I’m sharing this because I know a lot of women feel insecure about their lips. Spoiler: it’s definitely not a “walk in the park.” This is purely my personal story. It just feels good to be open about something I’ve thought about for a long time.

Finally fuller lips: my experience with a lip filler treatment

Why a Lip Filler?

For years, I’ve been bothered by my lips. When I smiled, my upper lip seemed to disappear, almost like a thin line. It made me feel a bit self-conscious, especially when I looked back at photos of myself. I love a natural look and never thought I’d even consider fillers. But recently, I started exploring the possibilities more seriously.

My Search

Eventually, I came across Dr E.’s clinic in London. The website gave me a good impression: lots of information about treatments, before-and-after photos, and transparency about costs and risks. I booked a consultation to discuss everything calmly.

Dr E. listened carefully to my story and my wish for a subtle result. He reassured me and explained how hyaluronic acid fillers work: they add volume, are naturally occurring in the body, and are gradually absorbed over time. He also showed examples of previous treatments that looked very natural. After the consultation, I already felt much more confident.

The Treatment

On the day of the treatment, I was nervous, but Dr E. put me at ease. He applied a numbing cream, so I was told I would barely feel anything. Well, that wasn’t quite the case for me. I found it fairly painful. The filler also contained lidocaine (a local anaesthetic), but my lips were still very sensitive. The procedure took about 20 minutes, though it felt longer. Looking back, I think it’s best to expect some discomfort—that way, it might not feel as bad.

The Result

In the first few hours after the treatment, my lips felt swollen and awkward. Drinking water was tricky because of the numbness, and coffee? Definitely not advised—you’d have a stain on your shirt in no time! The swelling lasted a few days, but after a week, it had mostly gone.

The result? Exactly what I hoped for: subtle, natural, and in harmony with my face. Now, when I smile, my upper lip is visible and full. It feels like I finally have lips that make me happy!

I’m extremely pleased with the treatment. My insecurities are gone, and my face looks fresh and rejuvenated. For anyone who’s unsure: do your research, discuss your wishes thoroughly, and choose an experienced practitioner. That way, you can be confident you’re in safe hands.
