I had Botox with Dr. Kaz on 12 June, only my second time ever having it done. I originally went in just wanting my forehead and frown lines treated, but he pushed me to have my crow’s feet done, saying my face would look “unbalanced” without it and even offered it for free. I agreed, trusting him as the doctor.
About 10 days later, I realised something was very wrong - one side of my smile was completely frozen. When I contacted him in a panic, he tried to tell me it was the other side of my face that was pulling down, which was not true. He later admitted it was “likely diffusion into the DAO muscle,” but that it should wear off in a few days. He was obviously playing it down, my smile was clearly affected by injections placed too low around my crow’s feet and directly into my smile muscle - an area I hadn’t even wanted treated.
It’s now 21 October and my smile is only back about 90%. It’s still changed the shape of my smile line on that side. I am hoping it will even out over time, but this experience completely knocked my confidence and made me lose my self identity.
