MesoBotox or Micro Botox
MesoBotox – sometimes also called mesotox – is one of today’s most talked-about cosmetic trends. The treatment was originally developed by dermatologists. With a standard Botox treatment, botulinum toxin is injected directly into the muscle. This temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, typically for 12–16 weeks. It’s especially effective for frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. MesoBotox works differently. Tiny micro-droplets of Botox are injected into the superficial layers of the skin, rather than into the muscle. This makes it a much more surface-level treatment compared to traditional Botox. The focus is on overall skin quality: the skin looks smoother, pores appear smaller, and sweating becomes less noticeable.
MesoBotox skin rejuvenation
MesoBotox uses the same botulinum toxin as traditional Botox, but in a more diluted form. Some practitioners personalise the treatment by mixing in hyaluronic acid (for skin quality) and lidocaine (for numbing). The MesoBotox solution is delivered into the skin using very fine needles – either with a syringe or with a device such as the Dermapen 4.
