Does Botox treatment help with excessive sweating?

Botulinum toxin injections can be used to reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). The treatment works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the eccrine sweat glands. This may lead to a noticeable reduction in sweating in the treated area, most commonly the underarms. Results often begin to appear within 2 to 7 days, with full effect typically seen after around two weeks. The outcome may last approximately 4 to 6 months, and in some cases longer. Repeat treatments are usually required to maintain the effect. Individual results can vary.
