The level of care I receive off Janice is outstanding. It’s rare to find a dentist who combines such high-level expertise with genuine kindness. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and has consistently treated me with so much patience.
I used to require sedation for a simple filling following on from an extremely stressful and dangerous dental experience (with a different dentist & practice over 20 years ago). My teeth have gotten into an awful state meaning I have had to have a lot of them removed.
I have followed Janice from her previous practice as she makes me feel calm and cared for. I had 3 teeth removed last week without sedation. I have come a long way, all thanks to Janice!!

Mark Truman made a treatment plan for myself with fixed braces as the best way forward as a very good outcome could be achieved this way now.
Just pre Christmas i had braces removed, hurray !
just short of 2 years of treatment.
Outcome, to as near as possible aligned teeth that I could achieve at this point & overbite reduced.
I also decided to have four top teeth composite bonded which is an amazing finishing process.
The overall process has been extremely good ,Mark is excellent / positive at times i have gotten a little tired of braces which im sure is normal!
I am extremely happy with finished look,people who know me are equally very impressed with outcome.
All down to me now to wear retainers to keep in check all the good work that has been achieved.
Any issues also a 6 month check to see how things are going so still looking after me.
I would highly recommend to anyone Mark & the practice for orthodontic treatment,which I do. Show less »

Had an untimely loss of a crown, contact was made to surgery as soon as it opened and within 40 minutes I was being treated. Problem was addressed with a swift repair. Unfortunately I cannot recommend St Martins for orthodontic work. We returned to the UK from overseas where my daughter had received 18 months of superb orthodontic treatment. She had around 6 months of work needed to fully align her teeth. A few months before we returned I sent in my daughter’s dental report as Mark had agreed to complete the work needed... Show more »

Unfortunately I cannot recommend St Martins for orthodontic work.

We returned to the UK from overseas where my daughter had received 18 months of superb orthodontic treatment. She had around 6 months of work needed to fully align her teeth.

A few months before we returned I sent in my daughter’s dental report as Mark had agreed to complete the work needed.

On our first appointment Mark suggested we simply remove the braces, which I refused as there was still improvement to be made. He agreed that the teeth could be improved further and quoted us £1000 for the remaining work, which we agreed to on the basis that we expected around 6 months treatment for perfect alignment.

Mark didn't seem interested in her dental report and instead enquired about the cost of my daughter’s braces in the UAE and whether or not it would be worth it for him to practice in Dubai.

Each subsequent appointment Mark wanted to remove the braces and it felt like an ongoing battle to get him to continue. It genuinely seemed like he was bored with doing the final tweaks needed.

At approximately the 3rd visit he informed my husband that no more improvement could be made and that he would remove the braces on the next visit.

I subsequently emailed the practice to politely ask that the £1000 quote which we had paid in full, be reviewed. A receptionist replied and said that she'd ask Mark to get back to me.

After a couple of weeks of no response I called to follow up. Later that day Mark begrudgingly called me.
His attitude from the start of the call was defensive. He said that 'he always had problems with patients who were transferred to him mid treatment because they were usually unhappy with things and moaned about the price of treatment.'

I explained that I was simply asking him to review the cost on the basis that he would not be completing the treatment plan we had agreed upon.

Mark said "you've raised the price a few times now, so I think it'll be better if you go somewhere else" (because apparently he only did general dentistry and a bit of orthodontics on the side).
I reminded him that I had emailed only once and followed up once as there had been no response and that I had not mentioned the price multiple times OR criticised his work at any time!

On a positive, the practice refunded us in full and Mark gave us details of a wonderful clinic in Malvern, where the dentist is more than happy to fully align my daughter’s teeth.

So in a nutshell, trying to complete my daughter’s orthodontic treatment at St Martins has been unnecessarily stressful and we have subsequently been directed to a more 'specialist' clinic elsewhere. Show less »

Clearly I had a very rare bad experience with the treatment received at St Martin's having chosen it because of it's excellent reputation. 3 years on I continue to suffer the consequences of the dentist ( now retired) having a bad day. My initial complaint was received dismissively and I was assured that my pain would improve. It turns out that jaw dislocation and bone shattering during extraction has long term implications. What should have been a simple procedure was deeply traumatic and impacted on my ability to open my mouth to eat or complete implant surgery in the expected timescale. TMJ dysfunction and facial asymmetry were not the outcomes I was hoping for. I have yet to receive any sort of acknowledgement or genuine apology for the unprofessional treatment I received. Trust in this clinic came at significant cost, both personal and financial. Show less »
