I had surgery (Hysterectomy) here in January under the care of Mrs Parveen, after some consultations with her.
We self funded to be here, due to the extreme wait times with the NHS currently.
From my first appointment to my last, Mrs Parveen has been nothing less than outstanding. She is extremely approachable, aswell as professional, and answered all of my questions to put my mind at ease before surgery. Surgery was performed, and the aftercare I received was wonderful. I have now been signed off. Mrs Parveen is a brilliant Gynaecologist and surgeon.
In terms of the hospital in general, again, it is nothing less than first class.
Everyone I have been in contact with from receptionists, to nurses, cleaners, and everyone in between, have been so professional and genuinely lovely.
The process of being admitted for surgery too was so seamless and faultless, it was remarkable. As soon as I arrived, I was showed to my room and showed around, and the nurse was straight in to start the admit procedure. The Anaesthetist (Vince) came in aswell to explain his part and discuss my options. He explained everything so clearly. I felt really listened to with my decision of not wanting the spinal block that was offered for pain relief, and he worked around it with no issues at all and made my worries about it seem completely validated and reasonable (HUGE thanks to him). He was absolutely fantastic.
My room during my stay of 2 nights was outstanding. The cleanliness was 5 stars. Nothing was too much, and I was looked after so well by all staff that I encountered.
I want to thank everyone at St Joseph's for being so fantastic at what you do, and I mean every member of staff as mentioned above.
I have nothing but praise for the whole team.
I absolutely will not hesitate to use them again if needed, and won't hesitate to recommend this hospital and it's staff aswell.
Huge thanks to those who help maintain the grounds around the hospital as well, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed. The grounds were immaculately kept every time we came. Show less »

Firstly very welcoming staff,very caring in attitude …. and a very clean and hygienic hospital. A very high standard. My immediate reaction was that I was going to be looked after well.

Mr Owens the Surgeon was very reassuring, friendly, explained everything he was going to do and made me feel very trusting of him, it’s the standard for all surgeons to reach.

The Anaesthetist Vince, an absolute gentleman, and his team very helpful and reassuring. Reassured me that I was in good hands and explained everything to me very clearly. Another example of high standard of professional but friendly approach, again a standard for all Anaesthetist teams to reach.

The nursing team, with a particular ‘shout out’ to Taylor who was a top quality nurse. Very caring, thorough, nothing was done unless it was explained clearly and they knew I understood …. and also took the time out of their working schedule to make sure my wife and I was fine, periodically calling into my room. They made me feel I was the only person there to care for.

I am currently staying in St Josephs after surgery and what an amazing hospital and team. Every single person has been brilliant, and I will be writing to the surgeon Prof Al - Sarireh with my appreciation, the theatre staff were so reassuring. Marta in recovery was friendly and supportive. During my stay I was cared for around the clock by David and Aurelia, and they couldn’t do enough. I accidentally missed a payment from an intense period of investigation of my severly ill and disabled child, and have recieved the most impersonal email from debt collectors for a measles £100 with the message literally saying 'see attached ' and the invoice. 1 reminder would've remedied the situation. I recently visited St Joseph’s for a private consultation with Mr Rogers for the excision of a ganglion cyst in my hand, followed a few weeks later by day surgery for the procedure itself.
The whole process has been smooth and stress free, all the staff I have encountered were helpful and friendly, particularly nurse Chloe on the day surgery ward. The hospital itself is clean, spacious and calm.
