I went to SLC Aesthetics for nasolabial fold filler after seeing recommendations on Facebook, and unfortunately it was the worst experience I have ever had.
From the moment I stepped inside, I regretted my decision. The “clinic” looked unprofessional, with an unpleasant smell and an overall poorly kept environment. The practitioner herself did not appear professional in her presentation or manner, and I should have trusted my instincts and left.
Before the procedure, I clearly explained my concern: my nasolabial folds were uneven, with one side more pronounced than the other. She rushed the consultation, didn’t examine me properly, and assured me she knew what to do. During the procedure, I immediately felt and saw a large lump on the side of my mouth, the side that actually needed less filler. This filler was placed very low, in an area that didn’t even need treatment, leaving me lopsided. The side that did need more filler was left unchanged. Her only reassurance was that it was “just swelling.”
I messaged her again after a few days when the lump remained, and she continued to insist it was swelling. Once the swelling fully went down, the hard lump was still there. When I asked to come in for a correction, all she offered was to dissolve everything for free. Dissolving filler unnecessarily is not ideal and carries risks, I wanted her to fix the mistake, not just wipe it all away. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, she stopped responding and ignored my follow-up messages.
I ultimately had to go to a qualified doctor to dissolve and redo the treatment properly. Thanks to Dr. Haroon at Mindful Aesthetics, I now have the results I was originally hoping for.
This experience made me realise how unregulated the aesthetics industry is. Anyone can do a short course, rent a shop, and start injecting, which is dangerous. I would strongly advise people to avoid SLC Aesthetics and instead see a properly trained medical professional. Don’t risk your face and health … choose wisely.
