I needed eight amalgam fillings removed using the SMART protocol, which ensures removal is done as safely as possible. I researched dental practices adhering to this practice near to where I lived. There were a couple but I chose Evolve dentistry in Portishead even though it was neally 40 miles from my house. They were the most efficient and caring of the two. All the staff ensured that my whole experience went smoothly, which really eased my anxiety. If you have any queries they are always answered very promptly. I felt very relaxed in Carol's hands as she is very experienced in amalgam filling removal, I hardly felt the injections and although the process could look quite daunting it really wasn't. I had them removed in three sessions and after my first session I knew what to expect and I was not anxious at all for the following two sessions. I would highly recommend Carol and her dental practice to anyone looking to have amalgam fillings removal done. Thank you so much Carol and all your team for such an excellent experience. I am new to Evolve, choosing to come as my previous dentist Richard Ford is there and I also read their excellent reviews. I rang with a problem and was given an appointment the next day. When I arrived the receptionist and treatment coordinator were very welcoming, friendly and reassuring.
Richard was so kind and spent a lot of time discussing the problem I had, he was then able to spend the next hour treating me as my wisdom tooth needed to be removed urgently. This was done with no pain and lots of reassurance. I am so grateful to everyone at Evolve for making this such a positive experience, I felt so well looked after. He is personable, courteous and kind, and never too busy to take the time to talk things through in as much detail as I want. I’ve learnt so much about my personal dental health from him - things that no dentist has ever pointed out to me before.

The treatments I’ve had with Richard have been completely pain free and my nerves about going to the dentist have now disappeared. The whole experience of going to Evolve is fantastic, from as soon as you step in the door. The reception staff and treatment coordinators are always lovely.

I’m so glad I chose Evolve and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new dentist. Show less »

I went into surgery after an accident and the lady on reception was so kind and booked me to be seen very quickly by Dr Ford, my mouth was very swollen and painful but he was so gentle looking to see what had happened, treatment was explained and then time was made that day for it to get me out of pain. I went into surgery after an accident and the lady on reception was so kind and booked me to be seen very quickly by Dr Ford, my mouth was very swollen and painful but he was so gentle looking to see what had happened, treatment was explained and then time was made that day for it to get me out of pain.
I was very nervous of my tooth being touched, but Dr Ford took such care and patience and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and didn’t feel pain, he even then fashioned my tooth so it looked like nothing had happened! Show less »

I’ve been blown away by their understanding, patience and kindness. Richard, Maisie, Julie & Nicky are all amazing. I had dentures made at Evolve Dentistry in Portishead by Mike and his assistant Jess, and I honestly cannot thank them enough.

Mike is truly special. He’s refreshingly honest and straight-talking – no sugar-coating, no false promises – just clear and direct about what he was going to do and what to expect. I found that honesty so reassuring. And then there’s Jess, who is warm, calming and so supportive throughout. Together they make the perfect team: Mike’s skill and precision, with Jess’s kindness and care. They really are phenomenal at what they do.

The change has been incredible. I underestimated just how good the result would be. My new smile has given me a whole new sense of confidence. I’m 58, and I was so worried dentures would look obvious or make me look older – but it’s been the complete opposite. People kept saying I looked brighter, like I’d been on holiday, without realising it was my smile. They couldn’t tell at all that I had dentures, which is amazing.

I deliberately waited before writing this review, to be sure it wasn’t just the excitement of something new. But even after time has passed, I’m still blown away. Yes, some foods feel a bit different (crisps, for example), but you adapt quickly, and the positives far outweigh any small changes.

The whole process was painless – I never once needed a painkiller. My gums have healed beautifully, and in time I may need a small adjustment, but that’s all part of the journey.

Most importantly, this has changed how I feel about myself. With my first grandchild on the way, I can’t wait to smile proudly in photos instead of hiding from the camera.

Their dedication to customer care comes across as paramount. I was made to feel at ease, all my fears listened to and I truly felt, for the first time in my life, comfortable at a dentists! Mike Gregory, my dentist, in my humble opinion is a genius. It really was like trusting someone with your life, your future and I cannot thank you and your lovely team enough for making me feel part of the Evolve family and the excellent, exceptional results I received.
