The dentist was great, especially with our daughter.

The problem was with their business practices and how we were treated outside of the treatment room. We were told repeatedly that we could sign up for the monthly plan anytime, that it would apply not to the current visit, but to the next one. That is basically a direct quote from the receptionist. We kept paying per-visit for a year or so until we decided we'd sign up for the plan because the dentist said I needed a cleaning visit. Only then were we told that we couldn't book an appointment under the plan for THREE MONTHS after signing up! Oh, and the plan only includes 30 minute cleanings but I'd been advised to have a 45 minute one (surprise surprise). So the expectation was that I would pay for at least one more full price visit despite also paying their monthly plan for the whole family. She explained this was to stop people signing up for the plan, having a single appointment and then cancelling. Sorry, we've been at the dentist for well over a year paying full price so this just doesn't wash. And anyway, if people are unhappy enough with the service to cancel after a single treatment, that should be allowed.

All this came after we'd been left waiting a good half an hour beyond our appointment time with no explanation or apology from the receptionist making me late for work.

My wife sent an email gently and politely pointing out how deceptive the plan communication felt and her only reply was a missed call with voicemail asking her to call them back an entire month later.

I'm not prepared to encourage such shady practices so we've moved to another dentist.

I hope they sort this out because the dental treatment seemed good. Show less »

I had a major fear of going to the dentist due to a bad experience as a child, and because of this, I hadn’t been to a dentist for 17 years. After developing toothache, I eventually had no choice but to see a dentist, and was originally referred to windle house through the NHS 111 service. I saw Stephen, who immediately put me at ease, and who I didn’t feel judged for not going to a dentist for so long. He immediately diagnosed the problem and sorted the necessary treatment. I enquired about registering with the practice as a patient to get a proper assessment of my teeth, and although I have had to do this privately, it’s been worth every penny. I had a thorough assessment of my teeth and x-rays, and have since had to return for a filling and hygienist appointment, ( the lady hygienist was also superb and put me at ease). I feel as though I have finally gotten over my fear of the dentist, I would highly recommend windle house and Stephen in particular to anyone who has a fear of going to the dentist. Thank you.
