Travelled over an hour in slow traffic and road works to spires to be told doctor had been called on an emergency, ok not a problem said someone was suppose to ring us never did. Made new appointment and left not happy as you would expect gott through the roadworks round corner from spires and phone goes, to be honest I was fuming anyway that they never rung us and was going to be 2 hour journey for nothing, I answered phone and started ranting it's not good enough and I'm sure I between this the nurse said he's back can't be sure as I put phone down. I have had so much bother with this place I'd rather just call it a day. Pain seems the better option than getting wound up so will be cancelling any future appointments. Show less »

I would just like to personally thank Kevin in the MRI department at the HuLL spire without him I’d never of been able to do my MRI I suffer with claustrophobia really bad he talked me through everything and showed me everything and gave me time to get myself prepared and fully reassured me and wasn’t a problem if I couldn’t go through with it and a squeeze of the button and would be there in seconds to get me out !!!! I managed the two scans with no break and smashed it soooo sooo thankful and appreciative Kevin and now have the confidence but hopefully won’t need it lol you do a great job thanks again Gary …. Don't expect to be given 30 minutes with the doctor like they state online, they rush you out as fast as they can, after you pay £200 for the appointment! The doctor I saw made me feel stupid about my worries. I honestly thought I was going to be listened to at Spire, but no. Less than 10 minutes I got with the doctor. The liklihood is that you'll be referred to another department after your quick, pointless appointment with "the specialist" that the switchboard advised you to see. So now it's more money to see another doctor, because the doctor you were advised to see was not able to help. Then, you'll be referred BACK to the first doctor for a follow up, which will last less than 10 minutes, for £180! I'm £1000+ down, yet I'm no wiser in regards to my health. They honestly just juggle you around different doctors, taking your money and giving no service. Show less »

My Mum has just had an operation at The Spire, Hull. Her experience was awesome.
All the staff were lovely and very caring, everywhere was extremely clean and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend this hospital as outstanding. Thank you so very much xx
