I booked a blood test for my mother a month ago and pre-paid a £147. I then cancelled the test due to some personal reasons. I was told there was a cancellation fees of £30, but the remaining amount of £117 would be refunded. It's been a month and have not refunded me anything yet. They even took my card details two weeks ago and sent me a slip confirming that the refund was processed. I even called my bank but they said nothing came through. It does not take more than 2 weeks for refunds to get processed in the UK. They are a bunch of unprofessional scammers. I am still fighting for my refund. Please be careful. Recently I had a negative experience with neurologist Dr. Gratwicke. I was prescribed an expensive (£600), strong migraine medication despite having long-standing neurological hypersensitivity (my nervous system can’t tolerate even caffeine contents of a single cup of tea) and symptoms that did not clearly fit a migraine pattern. I specifically asked about the certainty of the diagnosis and was assured it was correct.

After taking the medication, I experienced severe adverse effects — chest heaviness, breathing difficulties, throat constriction, and acute neurological tension — requiring an A&E visit and leaving me unable to work for a week, with lingering effects for weeks afterward.

It then took 25 days to receive a response from the consultant. The reply stated that my symptoms were “quite unusual” and “might not be related,” even though shortness of breath is listed as a known side effect of the medication occurring in 1 in 100 people that requires immediate medical attention.

My concerns relate to clinical judgment, a mismatch between my symptoms and the diagnosis, slow communication, and a lack of recognition of the seriousness of what happened.
