I had a very disappointing experience today at the salon, despite being a returning client.

I had booked a 1:00pm appointment for a full wash, cut, and blow dry. I ordered an Uber 25 minutes in advance, but two drivers cancelled and I arrived 12 minutes late. I called ahead to explain the situation, but the woman who answered was dismissive and lacked any empathy.

When I arrived, she was casually chatting with other clients and even accepted a walk-in without an appointment. Meanwhile, I was offered only a wash and cut “as a last option,” which I declined because I needed the full service I had originally booked. Her attitude was cold and unprofessional.

That said, the only reason I would ever consider returning to Teddy Grace is because of Mia, who did my eyebrows with extraordinary care. She was warm, attentive, respectful, and made me feel like a person—not a problem. She listened, was gentle, and even offered a fair price. Her kindness truly saved my day.

My hair is deeply tied to my identity and has great personal and medical significance to me. Being treated with such indifference was painful and frustrating. I will never return to this salon for hair services, but I’m truly grateful to Mia and will return to her alone. She is a gem in the middle of an otherwise upsetting experience. Show less »

Came in for BIAB manicure and gel pedicure and was really excited initially. My appointment started half an hour after the slot I booked and my nails were filed all wonky, my cuticles were botched and are basically raw - so painful. The BIAB is ridiculously lumpy. Bad experience - I phoned the salon prior to my appointment to check that the nail tech would have time to remove my nails before a gel manicure & was reassured on the phone that if I booked the afternoon slot they would have time to soak them off. Bad experience - I phoned the salon prior to my appointment to check that the nail tech would have time to remove my nails before a gel manicure & was reassured on the phone that if I booked the afternoon slot they would have time to soak them off. When I arrived at the salon, the nail tech was very annoyed as she didn’t think she’d have enough time for removal. And spoke to her colleague saying she wouldn’t have enough time as she was running late. In the end she came with some soak-off, but was quite unhappy.
The whole appointment was very uncomfortable and Sarah was very rough with my nails and cuticles which has made them red and sore. This was meant to be a treat for my anniversary and I’m a regular customer for hair, however this has put me off returning. It was also quite unprofessional how the other staff were joking about what a bad mood she was in and saying ‘oh your poor client’. Show less »
