Lipolysis via Groupon – Disappointing Transparency and Inconsistent Care
I booked a lipolysis session through Groupon and only found out upon arrival that each session lasts just 15 minutes. This crucial detail wasn’t mentioned anywhere during booking, which made the offer feel misleading. One 15 minute session alone isn’t enough to see results, so I had to book double sessions and subsequently purchase additional sessions unexpectedly. Clear upfront communication about session length would prevent this kind of frustration.
The experience itself was hit-and-miss. Some staff were friendly and competent, but others seemed unsure of basic protocol. I had to instruct them to apply the gel and properly strap on the paddles—something I shouldn’t have to do as a client. Hygiene was also a concern: the strap used during treatment didn’t appear to be cleaned between sessions, and I once saw it picked up from the floor without hesitation. On one occasion I asked for a cushion to support my head, the request was ignored, which added to the discomfort and instead she just lifted the back up, it wasn't what I wanted though.
The machine used looks quite dated—perhaps functional, but not confidence-inspiring. If this is the standard setup for Groupon bookings, it would help to show a photo in advance to manage expectations.
Suggestions for improvement:
- Clearly disclose session duration before booking.
- Ensure all staff are trained in equipment use and client care.
- Implement visible hygiene protocols, especially for reusable items.
- Respond to reasonable comfort requests like cushions.
- Consider updating or maintaining equipment to reflect a more professional standard.
The service has potential, but without transparency and consistent care, it risks leaving clients feeling undervalued. A few thoughtful changes could make a big difference.
